First Endeavor Catalyst Investor Meeting Brings Together Top Members of the Network; Five New Investments Announced

On April 19th, Endeavor Catalyst held its first-ever investor meeting in San Francisco, California. An informative and inspirational gathering, the meeting convened 85+ members of the Endeavor Catalyst community, including many of the major investors and donors behind the $35MM Endeavor Catalyst I, as well as more than two dozen Endeavor Entrepreneurs.

Indonesia’s Qraved

Jakarta-based foodtech startup Qraved, founded by Steven Kim, closed an $8 million Series B round of funding co-led by the U.S.-based Richmond Global Ventures and Gobi Partners from Shanghai, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst. Launched in September 2013, Qraved has quickly grown to be Indonesia’s leading food discovery platform, providing 1M+ monthly active users with restaurant information, reviews, recommended dishes with photos, promotions, and an instant booking facility.

Colombia’s Bodytech

Bodytech Corporation, the second-largest gym company in Latin America co-founded byNicolas Loaiza Galeano and Gigliola Aycardi Batista, announced a significant growth capital investment by L Catterton, the largest consumer-focused private equity firm in the world. The investment – with participation from Endeavor Catalyst – will be used to support and accelerate Bodytech’s continued growth throughout Latin America.

Mexico’s Kueski

Kueski, founded by Adalberto Flores andLeonardo De la Cerda, is the leading online micro-lending platform for Mexico and Latin America. The first company in Mexico to offer consumer loans purely over the Internet, the company recently closed a $35 million round of equity and debt funding – the largest capital funding in Mexico for a fintech startup. The $10 million equity investment was co-led by investors Richmond Global Ventures, Rise Capital, CrunchFund and Variv Capital, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst.

Chile’s Cornershop

Cornershop, co-founded by Oskar Hjertonsson and Daniel Undurraga, raised $6.7 million in investments for a Series A round with participation from Endeavor Catalyst. Cornershop is the leader in fast grocery delivery for Mexico and Chile. It has been operating its on-demand grocery delivery service since July 2015 in Mexico City and Santiago.

Saudi Arabia’s UTURN

Saudi Arabia’s UTURN Entertainment, founded by Soraqa and Kaswara Al-Khatib, received a $10 million investment from Leap Ventures, a Beirut-based fund co-founded by Endeavor Entrepreneur Herve Cuviliez. Endeavor Catalyst participated in the round. This news proves UTURN’s success, having grown from the first production house in Saudi Arabia to create professional online content to becoming a major regional media player.
